5 Benefits for Traction Enhancing Treatments

1 | Low Maintenance

Traction Enhancing Treatments are low maintenance. We always recommend that you clean the tile with our ReBOOST Cleaner to ensure that traction remains for as long as possible.

This type of treatment does not leave anything on your tile, it does not create any film that can peel over time. This treatment actually creates a series of microscopic mountain peaks and valleys in your tile.

This is what ultimately increases the traction. It will not change the way your tile looks or the way it feels to the touch but it will dramatically increase the Coefficient of Friction.

Maintaining this treatment is as simple as making sure that the ‘valleys’ don’t get filled up with oils, grease or dirt. Routine cleaning will ensure the treatment’s success and lifespan.

2 | Durable

The Traction Enhancement Treatment is extremely durable and long lasting. Since this isn’t a sealer, or some type of topical coating, the treatment is permanent.

Once it is applied to the tile, it literally changes the nature of the tile itself. Therefore, it cannot be stripped off, scratched, or destroyed.

3 | No Disruption

Are you concerned with shutting things down?

The great thing about this type of treatment is that it requires no cure time. Once the treatment is applied, it’s ready to go. We do not need to shut down any area of your facility in order for the treatment to cure!

The treatment can be done at any time of the day when there is minimum traffic.

4 | Safety

The most important reason to use our Traction Enhancing Treatment, is for safety. According to the National Floor Safety Institute, Slips and Falls account for over 1 million hospital visits a year. According to the CDC, in 2005, more than 15,000 people over the age of 65 died because of a fall. This is a 100% increase from the previous decade.

Our treatment increases the safety of your floor and reduces the likelihood of a serious injury due to a slip and fall accident. The best time to prevent a slip and fall accident, is before it happens.

Even though we consider ‘Safety’ to be the number one reason to consider our services, we realize that majority of the time, cost is the number one reason. Which brings us to our final reason for enhancing the traction on your floor.

5 | Cost

The National Floor Safety Institute compiled a list of stats regarding slip and fall accidents. One of the things that they found is that according to the National Safety Council Injury Facts 2003 edition, compensation and medical costs associated with employee slip/fall accidents is approximately $70 BILLION annually.

Anti-Slip Treatments are inexpensive, especially when compared to the high cost of slip and fall accidents.

Depending on the size of the area and the type of treatment it requires, the process can cost anywhere between $1.75 – $2.25 per square foot (prices may vary according to location). The higher the square footage, the cheaper it can get.

If it’s a commercial property, you can also apply for the Disabled Access Tax Credit that provides a credit for up to 50% of the amount spent on safety in your building (up to $10,250). The tax form is IRS FORM 8826.
